These Terms govern your use of https://jwatte.com ("the Site") operated by J.A. Watte ("we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (18 for transactions) to use the Site.
2. Account responsibility
Some features may require you to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Site in violation of any law; (b) attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or other technical controls; (c) scrape, mirror, or systematically harvest content except per our robots.txt and ai.txt; (d) interfere with other users; (e) upload malware or infringing content; (f) impersonate anyone; (g) use the Site to send spam or unsolicited communications.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Site (text, code, images, audio, structure) is owned by J.A. Watte or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view and share links to our content. Redistribution, re-hosting, automated scraping beyond permitted allow-lists, and re-packaging without written permission are prohibited.
5. User-submitted content
If you submit content to the Site (comments, uploads, reviews), you grant J.A. Watte a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it in connection with the Site. You retain ownership.
6. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party sites (including Amazon). We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, J.A. Watte is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold J.A. Watte harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Site or breach of these Terms.
10. Termination and suspension
You may stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or permanently block access, in whole or in part, for conduct described in Acceptable use above.
The tools on this Site fetch URLs you submit through a server-side proxy so that a page can be audited from outside your browser. That proxy is the part most likely to be abused, and we will block access to it for anyone using it to load a volume of requests against a third-party site, to reach addresses that are not publicly routable, or to disguise the origin of traffic. Blocking is not a judgement about you; it is how a free tool stays available to everybody else.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination do so, including Intellectual property, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, and Governing law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Exclusive venue is Hillsborough County, Florida.
12. Dispute resolution
Raise it first. If something here is wrong, or a tool has given you a bad result, say so through the chat box before anything formal. Most of what goes wrong on this Site is a bug, and a bug is faster to fix than to argue about.
If that fails, Florida law governs and the venue is Hillsborough County, as set out above. You are not being pushed into private arbitration and you are not waiving your right to bring a claim, including in small claims court. Nothing in these Terms prevents either of us from seeking injunctive relief for misuse of the Site or infringement of intellectual property.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before taking effect.
