# The Rotunda Twenty-Eight: execution copy Site: jwatte.com. Byline: J.A. Watte. Prepared 7 October 2026. This is an operational adaptation of the user's longer series run file, not a verbatim replacement for every supplied biographical bullet. The original briefs are leads, including their stated source disagreements and unconfirmed claims. Verify them again for each article. No unstarted biography is represented here as researched or published. ## Scope and order Write one biography per response. Start with No. 2, Samuel Chase. A range request proceeds in order but pauses after each article for next. The existing Robert Morris article is the exemplar and must remain untouched. A navigation scaffold can keep the series links usable; it is not the requested full hub essay. Write the capstone only after all 27 new biographies have actually been published and read. Commands understood: Run #12; Run #12-#15; Run hub; Run capstone. Do not treat the example commands as authorization to write every item at once. ## Read before each run Read https://jwatte.com/blog/robert-morris-forgotten-financier/ in full and the seven laws at https://jwatte.com/blog/forgotten-founders-ledger-lessons/ . Match structure and cadence, not sentences. Read the actual repository front matter and shared post template. Keep its editorial note behavior. Do not alter the Morris post or retrofit a different introduction into it. The anchor is Barry Faulkner's The Declaration, 1936, in the National Archives Rotunda. It is not Trumbull's painting in the Capitol. The National Archives key numbers the front row 1 to 20, then the back row 21 to 28. The composition is allegorical and is not an attendance register for either July vote or the August signing. Dickinson and Robert R. Livingston did not sign. Key: https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/the-declaration-barry-faulkner/ggEG-74W2YPvQQ Mural study: https://www.archives.gov/files/publications/prologue/2014/spring/murals.pdf Gorelic's discussion is useful for the commission and arrangement, but its committee lists and some biographical statements require independent checking. Verify the Articles drafting committee in the Journals rather than copying the mural article's list. ## Verification contract Settle July 1 and 2, July 4, and August 2, 1776 separately. A letter reporting delivery of a colony's instructions does not prove the addressee personally delivered them. State a surviving uncertainty instead of inventing an exact travel itinerary. Establish signing date or an explicitly uncertain range; never assume July 4. Prefer original correspondence, congressional journals, institutional collections, state archives and specialist scholarship. DSDI and the 1820s biographies are starting points, not sufficient corroboration for every vivid story. Attribute late recollections as late recollections. Do not diagnose historical illness beyond the evidence. Distinguish allegation, legislative clearance, acquittal, conviction and removal. Distinguish payment orders, gross revenue, personal property, land, liabilities and a complete net estate. Historical dollar and pound figures remain nominal unless a clearly sourced conversion is separately requested. Test the circulating signer suffering stories against primary or scholarly evidence. No loss should be assigned to the signature merely because it happened later. Keep the unpleasant entries, including slavery, personal gain and partisan conduct, where the records support them. ## House style and skeleton Write 2200 to 2900 words, with six to eight narrative H2 headings, followed by Related reading and Fact-check notes and sources. The hook has four to six short paragraphs before the first heading. Open in the room in present tense, give an attributed number and the plaque location, use a counting or contrast device, and finish with a short pivot. The narrative covers origin, rise, 1776, actual service, a dedicated cost section, final years and estate, then where to find him. Use mostly plain sentences and short paragraphs. No rhetorical questions, dash punctuation or bullet lists in narrative prose. Code, identifiers, URLs and Markdown list syntax are exempt from the dash restriction. Use one to four brief period quotations from verified texts. Every surprising number needs attribution. Modern quotations stay below fifteen words per source. A clarification paragraph must name the familiar version, the evidence-supported version and the source of the confusion where it is known. Return to the mural at the end. Name a ledger law with its exact wording. At most one first-person sentence links a relevant book or article. End the narrative with a new two-sentence aphorism. Never invent author military service, employment, clearance, family or residential details. Related reading has four to six linked bullets. Include Morris, the series directory, and other existing articles. Never link a future biography as though it exists. Fact-check notes map claim groups to sources and identify single-source figures, disputed dates and omitted myths. Close with this exact line: *This post is informational, not financial advice. Historical claims are cited above; institutions and publications are mentioned as nominative fair use with no affiliation implied.* ## Exact ledger laws 1. Liquidity comes before ambition. 2. Carrying costs are senior to your plans. 3. Never sign personally for the mission. 4. Revenue is not retention. 5. Match your money's duration to your asset's. 6. Structure beats sentiment, every time. 7. Custodians compound; heroes combust. ## Images and publication Use an institutionally identified public domain portrait. Record artist, date, accession, rights and the actual download source. A public catalogue may identify an image while a public domain mirror provides its bytes; record both. Do not mistake the artwork's age for a licence to copy a restricted modern photograph. Do not generate a fictional portrait or a fabricated historical interface. Preserve the full portrait, with neutral padding if a 1600 by 900 hero is needed. Credit it in the caption or alt text. Check both the source rights record and the rendered article. Do not promise an object is on display merely because it is in a collection. Save the article, downloadable Markdown and claim ledger. Run the normal site build and deployment gates, publication checks, a mobile layout test and a secret scan. Check the unchanged Morris source hash. Commit only reviewed changes. Verify the GitHub remote commit before publishing a preview, then production. Compare article content and delivered image/download bytes afterward. Native server resources can fetch permitted public sources. Keep credentials outside Git and images. Respect access refusals. A Worker or browser request failing must be recorded as a failure, not silently described as successful infrastructure. Do not change unrelated production services to publish an article. ## No. 2 corrections from this research pass The State Archives places Chase in Annapolis on July 2 and July 4 and in Philadelphia for the August 2 signing. July 1 remains uncertain at the individual travel level. The alleged horseback delivery is not established by Adams's report that instructions arrived. The State Archives and FJC disagree about early bar chronology; use early 1760s or disclose the two entries. The FJC and Maryland profile place death in Baltimore; Congress's biography and the longer Maryland worksheet say Washington. Attribute the chosen location and preserve the disagreement. The estate worksheet's personal property figure is $14,866.01 and separately names land. Its narrative and worksheet differ between debts exceeding personal property and debts exceeding the estate. Do not turn that into a reconciled exact negative net worth. The proposed January 16, 1782 legislative clearance and 1788 bankruptcy filing are not independently established here. They are not declared false; they are withheld. The flour purchases and allegation do not establish a criminal conviction. Impeachment ended in acquittal, not removal and not unanimous approval. ## Publication queue | No. | Name | Colony | Row | Slug | Initial status | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | Robert Morris | PA | front | robert-morris-forgotten-financier | Existing exemplar | | 2 | Samuel Chase | MD | front | samuel-chase-declaration-mural | This run | | 3 | Charles Carroll | MD | front | charles-carroll-declaration-mural | Not started | | 4 | Stephen Hopkins | RI | front | stephen-hopkins-declaration-mural | Not started | | 5 | Samuel Adams | MA | front | samuel-adams-declaration-mural | Not started | | 6 | Thomas McKean | DE | front | thomas-mckean-declaration-mural | Not started | | 7 | John Dickinson | PA | front | john-dickinson-declaration-mural | Not started | | 8 | Abraham Clark | NJ | front | abraham-clark-declaration-mural | Not started | | 9 | William Ellery | RI | front | william-ellery-declaration-mural | Not started | | 10 | John Witherspoon | NJ | front | john-witherspoon-declaration-mural | Not started | | 11 | John Hancock | MA | front | john-hancock-declaration-mural | Not started | | 12 | Benjamin Harrison | VA | front | benjamin-harrison-declaration-mural | Not started | | 13 | Samuel Huntington | CT | front | samuel-huntington-declaration-mural | Not started | | 14 | Thomas Jefferson | VA | front | thomas-jefferson-declaration-mural | Not started | | 15 | Roger Sherman | CT | front | roger-sherman-declaration-mural | Not started | | 16 | John Adams | MA | front | john-adams-declaration-mural | Not started | | 17 | Robert R. A brief live directory is explicitly not that essay. The capstone is 1800 to 2500 words and is blocked until every new biography is published. Read them all. Group outcomes with exact dates, test the seven laws against the lives, revisit the myths with sources, and research the then-current Federal Reserve household report. Do not use a stale statistic merely because the earlier capstone did. The private execution log is the authority for work stages. The public directory exposes only links included in a verified publication, not tasks promised for an unspecified future date.
